Section One：China Wedding Today
About average 8 million to 9 million couples get married in China every year from 2004 to 2006. The annual wedding consumption in China can reach up to 400 billion Chinese Yuan.

According to our official questionnaire survey on wedding consumption of newly-weds in the major cities of China, the average wedding cost is up to 120, 000 Chinese Yuan. The cost include various consumption for wedding photography, wedding services, gems and jewelry, honeymoon travel, home electric appliances and etc.

Section Two: CIW History
At present, the wedding and related services market has been developing rapidly. Like a gold mine, wedding consumption is creating such a big market and development potential that drives China International Wedding Expo (CIW) to come into being.

Under the joint support of 21 industry associations, the first CIW was launched in Beijing Exhibition Center in February 2005.

RuiXin Xu - former vice minister, Ministry of Civil Affairs, China , Director, China Association of Social Workers announced the grand opening.

The ribbon cutting for the grand opening of CIW were conducted by the leaders and senior officials from China General Chamber of Commerce, China’s Communism Youths League, All-China Women’s Federation, the People’s Congress of Beijing, China’s Women Development Foundation, Women Workers Department of All-China Federation of Trade Unions, Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of China’s National People’s Congress and China National Garment Association.

Section Seven: What’s on Expectation for CIW 2007
China International Wedding Exposition (CIW) has been successfully held for four times. There were about 380 exhibitors having participated in the events, among which were 32 overseas. With 1,820 booths and 120,000 attendees, CIW is well recognized as the largest and the most influential event in the wedding industry of China .
